I need to come back to this list that I posted in December because I NEED TO READ IT OUT LOUD and BELIEVE IT and I WANT YOU to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, TOO!

Here is a list that will get you started thinking about what You Need to be
Successful in Your Business in 2011:
1. You MUST BELIEVE that YOU DESERVE SUCCESS.
2. You MUST BE CONFIDENT that FULFILLING YOUR PURPOSE in life
WILL CREATE SUCCESS.
3. You MUST HAVE A MASTERMIND of like-minded people, a TEAM of
SUCCESSFUL MENTORS.
4. You MUST USE the Product, RECOMMEND the Product and SPONSOR.
5. You MUST remain FOCUSED on the DAILY TASKS that build, even the
menial, repetitive, Slight Edge, tasks that are Easy to Do and Easy Not to Do!
6. You MUST be READY to RECEIVE SUCCESS.
7. You MUST have CLARITY – What DO YOU Want? What is YOUR WHY?

Do Not Sabotage Yourself by thinking that you do not deserve success!

Often times well meaning people in our lives tell us that good things will never happen for us. Maybe they don’t want to see us expect so much so that we will not be disappointed. However, if we don’t dream, it will never happen. If we expect poverty, that is what we will get. On the other side of the coin, if we expect prosperity, that is what we will get. “We have not because we ask not,” James says in the Bible, Or we “ask amiss,” seeking only our own pleasure not thinking of God’s plan or of others. We will be successful when we help enough others to be successful.

Most people have heard that ‘God Doesn’t Make Any Junk!’ God made us “in His Image” (Genesis), therefore we are deserving of An Abundant Life!

An Abundant Life does not mean that we will all be millionaires. Success is not being rich in an abundance of material things. In the Disney Movie, ‘The Happiest Millionaire’, the millionaire was a giving, caring man who was very happy with his life. He was not a ‘Scrooge’, hoarding his wealth, but shared his wealth of advice as well as his time and resources.

Happiness is Success. You are successful when you are happy!

Happiness comes from within.

Can you look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you love yourself?
If you can, that is wonderful. If not, repeat it often until you believe it!

A few words from my friend and mentor Michael Dlouhy;

A caller recently told me he’s joining an MLM company because they promised him spillover. I said, “They are lying to you!”

The guy called me back later and said, “I point-blank asked them if I’d get people put underneath me, and the guy said, Well, we can’t guarantee that.’”

Spillover – Creating a Welfare Mentality

Good people don’t want welfare. They want to build it themselves. They just want to learn the skills they need to build this business and create residual income, money that’s coming in week after week, year after year, and they can will it to their children’s children.

When you look at a lot of network marketing websites, you often see that word “spillover.” The proposition, more or less, is, “get in now, today, and you’ll get all this spillover.”

In 27 years, I have never, ever, ever seen anybody get spillover, having somebody build it for them.

And if you look closely at the compensation plans of the companies that promote spillover, you’ll find out that those who get spillover usually don’t get paid on it. There are other hoops to jump through to get paid on that spillover, and these people rarely ever qualify.

So it’s the person who actually does the work who gets the pay, what a novel idea!

Companies & reps use “spillover” as a tool to drag in people who think they can build a business without doing any work. In other words, no sponsoring, no recruiting. It targets that type of person.

When You Say “Spillover”, You Are Targeting Quitters!

When you see a network marketing company that promotes spillover on their website, they’re looking for welfare-minded people. The problem for you is, you can’t build with these people, unless YOU do all the work! That’s what they expect. And when you don’t build their business, they’ll be off somewhere else, looking for a better welfare plan.

So really, when you or your company promote spillover, you are targeting people who will not be with you long-term. And in network marketing, that makes absolutely no sense. The failure rate will be 100%.

And Here’s Why The Leads You Buy Tell You To Go Pound Sand!

The quickest way to build a huge list is to offer the moon and require nothing (no money, no work, no purchase) in return. You’ll see companies promoting “we’ve signed up more people faster than anybody else in the history of network marketing.” Problem is, there’s nobody ordering any product. It’s just a bunch of names on a list – but now they can call these people “network marketers.”

Then they turn around and sell this huge database of worthless names (an “MLM geneology list”) For $10,000 each to 10 different list brokers. BAM! That’s $100,000 profit! And then the list brokers sell these “leads” to all the people in network marketing who want to build their business – including YOU!

So you pay $2-$3 a lead for these people, you call them up, and they tell you, “Hey! You‚ are nuts! I’ve never been in network marketing!” They don’t even know what it is. They just opted in to some pie-in-the-sky list, hoping to get something for nothing.

Conclusion? Run like heck from any company focused on “spillover” – and ALWAYS generate your own leads.

I started the new year with the book on 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastination and Get More Done in Less Time, called, Eat That Frog, by Brian Tracy. Then I fought my old programming that didn’t want to give up, roll over and play dead. Maybe it was just teasing me into thinking I had conquered procrastination, but was just ‘playing possum.’ Nonetheless, I found myself in a battle for which voice of reasoning I was going to listen to!

I believe in everyone else, but when it comes to ME, I don’t have faith the size of a speck of dust.

I listened to a good friend and mentor of mine who said he would believe in me until I believed in myself and he had some great advice, “Keep the Positive Emotions in the forefront of your mind at all times and stop all negative emotions from entering.”

Find a ‘Perfect Day’ experience that you have had and go there in your mind to help you block out the negative influence around you that you can not walk away from.

He used the word picture of someone being sick, coughing or throwing up on you. You would not
allow them to continue but would put something between them and yourself.

You can put something between them and yourself by going to your ‘Perfect Day’ in your mind.
Then just smile and enjoy the memory without the ‘puke’ of negativity getting you down.

So, as we enter this uncharted territory of 2011, think about these words from another mentor of mine…

THIS IS YOUR LIFE.
Do what you LOVE and do it OFTEN.
If you don’t like something, CHANGE IT.
If you don’t like your job, QUIT.
If you don’t have enough time, QUIT WATCHING TV.
If you are looking for the love of your life, STOP.
They will be waiting for you when you START DOING THINGS YOU LOVE.
STOP OVER ANALYZING. LIFE IS SIMPLE.
All emotions are beautiful.
When you eat, APPRECIATE EVERY LAST BITE.
Open your MIND, ARMS, and HEART to New Things and People,
We are united in our DIFFERENCES.
Ask the NEXT PERSON you see what their PASSION is,
and SHARE your INSPIRING DREAM with them.
TRAVEL OFTEN; getting lost will help you FIND YOURSELF.
Some OPPORTUNITIES only come once, SEIZE THEM.
Life is about the PEOPLE you meet and the things you CREATE WITH THEM.
So go out and START CREATING.

As the year 2011 comes in a few days, do you plan on being more grateful for what you have? Add on to what you are thankful for this year(2010); be thankful for what most people take for granted; once you do then you will be more open to the good that happens in your life.

What are you thankful/grateful for? I’m thankful for family, friends, relatives, food, a house, car, etc. Most importantly I’m thankful for Jesus, God’s Son, who came to this earth. He’s the reason for this Christmas Season. I know Christmas is over, but every day I’m grateful that God sent his son to this earth.

Life is what you make it; what you do with what you have is how you use it, and how you use it is how to help others.

With the holiday season upon us, it is a great time reflect on the past year and move forward with goals for the new year. Of course, you cannot ‘eat the elephant’ all in one setting, so plan goals for a smaller period of time first and put together over the whole year, it will be worth it!

Most people do best with 90 day runs or goals for a three month (quarter of the year) period. Set your goals for 90 days and the readjust and set them for the next 90 days until…. it never has to stop until you do. Each 90 day run will encourage the next 90 days and build on the last 90 days.

Remember, not to use excuses to slow you down. Life is going to happen in 2011, just like it did in 2010. This year has held it’s trials and blessings for many people including me. I often used life happenings as an excuse until someone asked me, “Is this your business or a hobby?”

Why is it that we treat a home based business like a hobby and not with the priority and commitment that a business should hold for us? (You have to answer that one for yourself.)

Does your business take precedence over the laundry, dishes, housecleaning, etc? I don’t mean that these things are not to be done when it is time to do them, just work them into your business schedule! not the other way around.

Here is a list that will get you started thinking about what You Need to be Successful in Your Business in 2011:

1. You MUST BELIEVE that YOU DESERVE SUCCESS.

I am going to strive to be better at each one of these 13 behaviors of trust and show others that I CAN be trust-worthy.

Throughout history the passing on of wisdom and practical
knowledge has been done by mentoring from parents, grand
parents, teachers, leaders, coaches, coworkers and friends.

The word goes back to Homer’s Odyssey a
story which tells how before leaving on his long journey,
Odysseus asked a close friend to watch over and guide
his son. That friend’s name was Mentor.

Some observations from the book by Marc Freedman,
“The Kindness of Strangers”:

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Mentors

1. Listening:

It is the only way mentors can understand what people
are up against and where opportunities for developing
the relationship can be discovered.

2. Building a relationship:

In the hurry to make a difference, mentors can forget to
take time to build a relationship and establish a firm
connection. this means carefully cultivating trust..It
means being patient. Many people will test mentors
to see if they are for real.

3. Respecting boundaries:

When mentors ask people personal questions before
a solid relationship has been established, the most
common response is silence. People will clam up.
Mentors who do not respect their mentees’ needs
for privacy are often quick to alienate them.

4. Being sensitive to differences:

It is necessary to realize that mentors and those
they work with come from different worlds, a reality
even for mentors who have grown up disadvantaged.
This means being aware of the embarrassment a
person might feel about being poor.

5. Providing support and challenges:

Successful mentors are consistently there for people,
delivering a sustained message ‘You are important”
when problems arise, effective mentors resist telling
people what to do and instead work with them to
address the problems. These mentors are eventually
able to strike a balance between supporting and
challenging both nurturing people and pushing them
toward their goals.

6. Acknowledging reciprocity:

While mentors often have to provide the initiative
early in the relationship as trust is being established,
mentoring is a two-way street. Growth, benefits and
struggles are present on both sides, and mentors
who are able to convey they are there for mutual
exchange, not just solve problems stand the greatest
chance of making a solid connection.

7. Being realistic:

Few mentors turn lives around, but mentors who help
people move toward achievable goals can make a real
contribution. Often this means having thick skin,
tolerating unreturned phone calls, accepting the
cultural gaps that must be bridged. In the end, few
virtues in mentoring rival on growing commitment and
genuine caring.
