Let me share part 2 of the answer that Sharon Lechter and Greg Reid give in their book, Three Feet from Gold.

You already have the talent and ability to create great suc-

cess in your life. The Success Equation will show you how:

[(P+T) x A x A) +F = Your Success Equation

ASSOCIATION

Association refers to the people and organizations you surround yourself with. Think of the five people you spend the most time with.

Do they support you? Are they successful? Do you need to change your associations?

List the names of five successful people that you personally know.

Describe what makes these people winners in your opinion.

Make another list. What associations could help you apply your talent and your passion?

Think of groups of people, businesses, age groups, sports that could benefit or assist you in pursuing your passion and talent.

Now search the web for your passion and talent. What did your internet search turn up? If you are overwhelmed by the search results, start narrowing your focus until you find something that intrigues you. Any new ideas?

Look at the list of associations you listed and pick one. Make a call to see if you can “be of service” to that association. Ask, “How may I serve you?”

ACTION

Making a change requires taking action. Are you really committed to improving your life, or are you just attracted to the possibility?

Look in the mirror: . . . for things to change… you must change!!!

FAITH

This is often the toughest part of the equation to master. Having faith means believing in yourself and your idea despite the obstacles you may encounter.

Remember — Take a moment to remember the low points and the high points in your life.

Reflect — How did those times impact you? How did you respond?

Did you have support from your friends and family?

Recognize — Recognize that almost all successful people also have low points as well as the successes in their lives. They learn how to persevere and succeed through those low points. You Can Too!

Acknowledge– Acknowledge that you can persevere and can find the right associations!

Act as if! — Have the faith that your personal Success Equation will drive you to incredible success and start taking action every day toward that success.

Remember:

In order to plan a course for success, it helps to know where you are and how you got there. There is a saying, “Your life is the sum total of the decisions you have made.” Let’s review your past in order to create your future…

You will need to read the book, Three Feet From Gold, to get more details.
It is Truth Wrapped in a Story. I learned much from reading the book and am reading it again!

Don’t let your potential die. Find your passion in life and pursue it!

Once again, the brevity of life has reminded me that I must be passionately seeking to attain my goals while I am able.

Last Wednesday night, the youngest of four children, an 18 year old, college freshman, collapsed and died while running on a high school track. He was a leader in the making, tackling engineering problems that his classmates had no idea how to solve. He was a friend of our son, who is close to the same age. We also know his family and attended his funeral on Saturday.

So much potential, we don’t understand why it happens, especially when it is someone we know, but it prods us to do better and be leaders that show the way to others.

As an adult, we should know our purpose in life and pursue it passionately. We should be living in the present and giving 100% to achieving the goals to attain our purpose in life.

Remember the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

It is so easy to change from one profession to another in the society today, that most people change many times during their lifetime, never finding fulfillment.

Don’t be discouraged if you don’t know your purpose. Most people don’t know their purpose.

How do you find it? How do you know what you want to be when you grow up?

What did you dream about becoming when you were a child? What do you feel so strongly about doing, that it brings tears to your eyes, or your heart beats faster when you talk about it?

What would you do if you knew that you would not fail and money was not an option?

Let me share the answer that Sharon Lechter and Greg Reid give in their book, THREE FEET FROM GOLD.

You already have the talent and ability to create great suc-
cess in your life. The Success Equation will show you how:

[(P+T) x A x A) +F = Your Success Equation

Combine Passion, something that makes your heart sing,
with Talent, something you excel in, multiply it by the
right Association, successful people or organizations, and
Action, concrete steps you can take toward your goal, and
then add your Faith, the unwavering belief in yourself, and
you will have your own unique Success Equation.

If you don’t already have a journal, get one. Creating your
Success Equation can be your first entry.

PASSION

In your journal, take a page and make a list of ten things you
are passionate about. Sharon’s might include x and y; Greg’s
might include a and b. What does your list include? You may
need to get help from your friends and family (who support
you!) in coming up with things that really get you excited but
you might consider irrelevant.

What are you passionate about? What makes your heart sing?

Think about the times in your life when you have been most
fulfilled. What were you doing?

TALENT

Now, on another page, make a list of ten things you are really good at.

Are you a great communicator? Do you have a knack for numbers?

Can you cook or draw?

What do you excel in? What are your talents?

Now, ask a friend to remove one item that least describes you from each list.

Repeat the process with several friends, either as a group or
individually, until you have one item remaining on each list.

My passion is _______________________________________.

My talent is _________________________________________.

(to be continued…)

Don’t let your potential die.  Find your passion in life and pursue it!

“Ninety percent of new businesses fail the first year.

And 90% of the rest fail in the next 4 years.

THAT is tough.

You’re excited. You start. A thousand things go wrong.
You want to quit a thousand times.

Most people just quit.

You need a strong enough reason to do it.
Then if WHAT you’re doing doesn’t work,
You’ll figure out some other way. But if
You’re at all wishy-washy, you’re a goner.”

This quote from Michael Dlouhy’s book, Success in 10 Steps,
explains why we need to find and fulfill our passion in life.
That passion in your life will create a successful business.

So, why are you here (on earth, I mean)?

What do you enjoy doing so much that you can’t wait to get started in the morning?

God placed man on the earth initially to have fellowship with Him.
It was a joy for Adam, Eve, and God to walk and talk together in
‘the cool of the day’. We should have fellowship with our Creator.

We need to know what our purpose in life is. It will fulfill us so that we are overjoyed to work at accomplishing our purpose every day.

I don’t mean like the movie that shows someone who’s whole live
builds to a climax of doing a great humanitarian deed and then
passes on, though that may happen.

I am talking about day to day, burning, passionate, desires or dreams that become a reality because you pursue them with clear focus and purpose. Then you will be successful in your life, your business, etc.

First of all, you have to know WHAT you want. What is YOUR dream, your PURPOSE, YOUR PASSION IN LIFE?

Most people have been ‘programmed’ to think that once you reach adulthood, you are not supposed to dream anymore. (Not in the daytime, anyway)

WHY NOT?

Do you want to be STUCK in your 9-5  J-O-B from now until you retire without enough retirement to live comfortably?

Take responsibility of your life and actions and achieve your dreams.

Dream, and DREAM BIG, the BIGGER, the Better!

In the book, Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill says,
“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

In the weeks to come, I will be sharing the steps that many
successful entrepreneurs have taken.

Then you, too, will be able to….

Find YOUR PASSION IN LIFE and BUILD YOUR BUSINESS.
