So you’ve found yourself a coach or a mentor that is doing what you want to do. You want to be able to accomplish what they have. Now what? How can you make sure you get the best out of your experience?
You need to make sure that you are coachable.
What does this mean?
When a person is coachable, they do 2 things consistently. They do what the coach tells them to do without questioning it. And the second thing is even more important than the first. They ask for FEEDBACK!
We’ve all heard the saying, “There is always room for improvement.” I believe that to be true. Sometimes it only takes a little tiny tweek to make a huge improvement to the play. Perhaps by starting on the left foot instead of the right can give a player a fraction of a second that could change a plays outcome.
When we listen to our coach and do what they tell us, and then follow up with asking for feedback then we are truly coachable.
Are you coachable?
