About Henrietta

Who Am I?

My name is Henrietta Hakes. I live in a tiny town in central British Columbia, Canada, with a main highway that goes right down the middle of it. Careful not to blink as you drive through, you will miss it.

I’ve been married for almost 20yrs. I am a mother of 2, stepmother to 2 and I am a grandmother of one very rambunctious little girl, Bailey.

I bought my first computer about 6 years ago. I taught myself how to find my way around the internet, and discovered the wonderful world of internet marketing.

I tried many many many things to earn money online. The list is very very long. Everything from small direct sales companies, starting my own online store, ebay, traffic exchanges, and other programs that ended up costing me more than I ever made.

Despite the frustration, the financial loses, and time spent, I knew this was possible. I knew I could do this, I just needed to learn how to do this.

Every Tide Changes

I started seeking, without really knowing it, a mentor. I needed someone I could ask questions to, that would give me an honest answer. Not someone who would “sell me” something that contained all the answers I sought.

One day, on one of the gazillion networking websites for entrepreneurs, I met a lady, Sarah Thompson. She offered to help me learn how to build my business, no strings attached. Like most of you, I thought that is was just a new type of pitch to have me think I need her product and have me think I would NEED it to succeed. I have yet to hear her tell me that.

I, like most people, thought it was too good to be true. Yes, I heard that old adage, “If its too good to be true, it probably is.”
Most people miss the most important word in that phrase… “probably”

The definition for “probably” from The Free Dictionary online is :

Adv. 1. probably – with considerable certainty; without much doubt; “He is probably out of the country”; “in all likelihood we are headed for war”
belike, in all likelihood, in all probability, likely
2. probably – easy to believe on the basis of available evidence; “he talked plausibly before the committee”; “he will probably win the election”
credibly, plausibly, believably

Nothing is stated to tell us that it is a definite. The definition explains that its “likely” to be that way but not definitely.

I was faced with a very critical life changing decision. I could choose to believe her, or turn away from what she offered me. This could be my one chance to learn from an expert, or should I choose to continue on my way of slowing learning from trial and error, the most costly and slowest way to learn.

I knew that I needed to learn more skills. I knew that I wanted to be able to help my team and others to make a life style out of this amazing industry. This woman was doing exactly what I wanted to be doing.

I had to ask myself, if I don’t make the choice to believe her and what she tells me now, how will others believe me when I offer them my help?

I chose to take the chance. To be totally honest, I was a complete skeptic, but I was willing to do what she instructed… until I heard her pitch that I needed to spend money.

There is no one more pleasantly surprised than me. Sarah never once asked me to spend money for all the skills, one on one coaching she gave me or any of the other hours of instruction I received with her guidance.

The New Me

After working with Sarah and other mentors from Mentoring for Free, for the past for 2 years, I have grown so much as a person, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a wife, an entrepreneur, and a network marketing coach/mentor and as a human being that is learning to thrive on this planet Earth.

It’s been one of the most profound and life changing decisions I have ever made in my life. To work on me, to put in the time to learn skills from mentors who are living the life style I want. And to share what I know with others without any expectations.

    Hi Henreitta,

I am in the same position as you are. I joined so many program and nothing seem to work. I would really like to stop working for people and work for myself.
